“Martin was not only a teacher, but a mentor and role model for Nakresh”
We were very worried that Nakresh was not going to pass his entrance exams to Cambridge. My husband had been there and was really anxious that his only son go there as well. His headmaster said that if Nakresh wanted to make sure that he got into Cambridge he would need extra coaching, so we hired a local tutor for three hours a week. Nakresh simply did not seem to respond to the extra tuition and after one term his headmaster said that the private tuition was not working and that we should try online extra tuition, so we signed up with one of the online tutoring companies.
Again, at the end of term, his headmaster said that the extra online tutoring had made very little difference to Nakresh. We were at our wits’ end.
And then a friend of ours said that his son had had trouble with his school exams and they had hired a residential tutor from Tutors from England and this had been a great success. Apparently a wonderful young man had come and totally inspired their son and had helped him easily pass his entrance exam to Oxford, so we approached Tutors from England and they sent out a tutor to live with our family and help Nakresh with his school work. But he did much more than that.
Martin was truly a superb person; he was not only a teacher, but a mentor and role model for Nakresh. He told him how he should behave at Cambridge, what he should wear, advised him what clubs to join and promised to introduce him to some great friends of his who live near Cambridge. Nakresh was thoroughly prepared for Cambridge before he even arrived there.
So Martin was not just a tutor to Nakresh; he was inspirational; to be honest he changed Nakresh’s attitude to learning and made him much more interested in his studies. The result was that he easily passed his exams to Cambridge; also Martin really helped Nakresh with his interview for his college.
Needless to say, thanks to Martin, Nakresh is very happy at Cambridge and feels very much at home there. Many thanks, Tutors from England! NR
