Parents are the most important influence on a child’s life and they are not always perfect. Too forgiving and the child will not have enough discipline in his life to do his school work successfully. To harsh and the child will rebel, get bolshie and not work hard enough at school.
In both cases the school may think that the pupil’s intelligence is at fault and the school may recommend that a full-time tutor should be hired during the holidays to help the child with his or her studies.
The tutor’s first job is to find out why his pupil is not doing well at school.
Very often he discovers that the child’s intelligence is up to par,but there is some other reason for his poor academic performance and it often has to do with the parents, one of whom either spoils or is too harsh with the child.
On other occasions the tutor finds out that the atmosphere in the family is adversely affected by the unhappy relationship between the parents. Children are very sensitive to this and easily pick up any problems between their parents. Our tutors can often help to solve these problems; happy children tend to thrive at school.
It is often hard for a tutor to get to the bottom of the problem that is affecting the child. Luckily our tutors have had experience of all kinds of family situations and are very good at recognising what the problem is. They are very good at counteracting problems caused by the parents and in many cases getting the children to learn to live with problems between their parent
