I had always been rather unconfident and shy and never believed that I had any ability. The pandemic just made things worse. I had never spent time with someone interested in me enough for me to come out of my shell. There were friends in school, but as soon as things got tough, I’d back off. 

I did not do very well at school and luckily my parents decided to do something about it; they hired a tutor from Tutors from England. 

Adrian arrived and I was very shy with him at first, but slowly I began to realize what an absolutely exceptional person he was; he was also a good tutor, but that was not the point – he was also a very fine person and I came to admire and trust him a great deal. So much so that he completely changed my opinion of myself; I gained confidence; my school work improved; my general confidence improved; I was a different person. My parents noticed and were very pleased. 

What was interesting for me was that Adrian was not hired for improving my confidence – he was hired to improve my school work. In helping with my studies he changed my overall character; I came to believe in myself because Adrian believed in me. 

My parents were very loving and fine parents, but there was something missing; for some reason they did not give me the impression that they believed in me. I felt that they thought I was rather mediocre; maybe they did not want to spoil me or make me cocky; it was Adrian that brought me out and gave me confidence in myself.
